Requesting massage without stretching
Assisted stretching changes a session from mostly passive contact to guided movement. Some guests enjoy that; others prefer to remain still. A request for Thai or clothed massage should not be taken as blanket permission for every stretch.
What to ask or do
Put “no assisted stretching” in the initial enquiry. During the visit, ask the provider to explain any proposed movement before it begins. Consent can change even if stretching was discussed earlier.
Example wording
“Please keep the session still and omit joint stretches or end-range movement.”
For an Entertainment District hotel visit
Pressure, speed and movement are separate preferences. For a soothing hotel visit, explain each one plainly and ask for an early check. A cultural name or familiar routine does not override feedback. The guest can pause, reduce pressure, exclude an area or stop; finishing a sequence is less important than responding to that choice.
A related technique choice
Traditional Thai differs from Thai oil massage in setup and movement. The word “Thai” on both menus is less useful than knowing whether you will be clothed, stretched or receiving oil strokes.
